New Job(s)!

After a long while searching for full or part-time employment here in San Diego, I finally was offered a job as a Specialist at an Apple Retail Store. Of course, I took it! I am really looking forward to the opportunity and other benefits of being an Apple employee. I was supposed to start working last weekend, until…

My friend Chris plays in a band called Sleeperstar. We have known each other for quite some time now and his band is very good. You should check it out. Anyway, Sleeperstar just toured with a band from Ft Worth, TX, called Green River Ordinance. They are also very good. You should also check them out. GRO was searching around for a Tour Manager for the upcoming 6-week tour across the US. Chris gave my name and number to GRO, and the rest is now history. Or, well, will soon be history, because the tour is still in the future… What I’m saying is I am going to be Tour Manager for the Spring GRO Tour! I leave San Diego this Thursday and I am gone until May 6th. I am really looking forward to this opportunity. I have talked in plentiful amounts with GRO’s awesome manager and the guys from the band, and these next 42 days will surely be a rad adventure!

Apple? Those folks rock. They were gracious enough to allow me to start training when I get back in May. Looking forward to all kinds of new employment!

I should be posting some entries all throughout the tour on here as well as my twitter. Follow me!

Interviews

A couple weeks back, I mixed 2 short videos for Henry Proegler at Five One Films. They were interviews with potential candidtaes for Senior Yell at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Thanks to Henry for the work, and check out his website below. If you or a friend go to TAMU, I hope you get to hear my mixes!

Artists to watch:

I went to a really cool art show this weekend at Voyeur in San Diego. The show featured a bunch of rad local artists. Three close friends of mine had work on display.

Joel Evey

Sam Larson

Kelli Murray

I met Joel through my roommate as soon as I moved here. Ironically, he departed San Diego today for a new and awesome job opportunity in Philly. Sam is a long-time friend from college who now resides in SD, and is lucky to have a super talented and cool wife, Kelli. Trivia: I now live in Sam’s old room before he and Kelli tied the knot last November! Do yourself a favor and check out their work.
